Mzansi reacts to Mthunzi's return to 'Scandal!'

After the return of Mthunzi’s character was teased last year,"Scandal!" announced the return of the popular character on their social media platforms and the announcement has since left fans buzzing, sparking different comments.

Mzansi’s local soapies have produced some of the greatest villains that are as captivating as they are despicable. From the manipulative puppeteers to the ruthless and power hungry schemers, viewers' screens have been graced with some of the most iconic baddies in the history of television.

Among these villains is the incomparable Mthunzi Mayiza, played by the multi-award-winning Bongile Mantsai, who left a mark on e.tv’s "Scandal!"

Mthunzi’s character was a master class in villainy as his ability to manipulate those around him which often came with devastating consequences, made him a character that viewers loved to hate.

Now, after his five-year absence, Mthunzi is set to bring the heat as he was last seen on the soap opera being sent to prison for his crimes. Now that he's been released, he is back to claim what he believes is rightfully his and he is doing it without any remorse or second thoughts.

The announcement has sparked a debate online, with netizens weighing in on the new developments.

Some fans are excited about the character’s comeback while others expressed their concern about the character's exit was portrayed as an illusion of death. “Didn't he die??? 😭😭🖐️,” asked @NAKEDI_NKD on X.

Another user @BullDozerBoxing commented: “Hehehe I don't recall the last time I watched Scandal, but with his character's return, I'll definitely make a comeback too.”

However, not everyone is convinced. Some fans are confused about Mthunzi’s return, questioning where the storyline will lead.
