South African influencer, author and now reality TV star Kefilwe Mabote has opened up about her journey of discovery and redemption.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Mabote shed light on her decision to let go of worldly distractions and pleasures and finally see “the truth.”
She explained that she found God and things she had never understood were revealed to her things she had followed such as her idolatry, horoscopes, new age practices, unforgiveness, soul ties, traditional/cultural practices, wrong crowds, certain social media campaigns and more.
“These things kept me bound without realizing it and were tools the enemy used to keep me in bondage.”
Mabote explained that she surrendered fully to Jesus, repented all of her sins and renounced anything that gave the enemy access to her life as God saved her life. “I see life differently now and I’ve learned to live with humility.”
Most recently, the luxury influencer appeared in the third season of the hit Netflix reality show "Young, Famous & African", which follows a group of African socialites as they navigate their glamorous but complicated lives, full of feuds, friendships, and personal revelations.
In her numerous posts, Mabote shared that she was opening up about her journey as she knows how it feels to live in darkness and hopes that her testimony will help someone who needs to hear this.
Mabote is known for her love of luxury designers being one of the first luxury influencers in the country. In one of her stories, she showed a video of her burning her Versace items, especially the ones with the high-end fashion brand's logo Medusa.
“Burning the Medusa face was one of the most freeing and therapeutic things I've ever done as one of the things of breaking down the idols I unknowingly built in my heart, the very things that distracted me from fully walking with Jesus.”
Early this January, Mabote kicked off 2025 by giving away some clothes, including designer wear to her loyal followers. She may be burning her Versace wear but it doesn't mean she is turning her back on brands but explained that it will simply be an item not a reflection of her identity or purpose.
Mabote’s lengthy posts didn’t stop at only addressing her luxury items but also had a message for “wealthy men with no souls” who have approached her in her direct message on Instagram.
“I humbly ask you to stop sending me “can I get to know you” DMs, assuming I’m the same person you like on TV, which was filmed a year ago, and unsend those messages before I expose you all!
“To my sisters and everyone, I urge you to be spiritually vigilant. Spiritual spouses are real (incubus and succubus). Their assignment is to steal, kill and destroy. Screen the people you allow into your life with discernment!"
Mabote poured her heart out to 1.6 million followers on Instagram, letting them know her journey to deliverance has not been easy, it has included three months of fasting for deliverance and fighting the spiritual baggage from her first marriage.
