Jackie Phamotse recently took to social media to defend Cassper Nyovest following the remarks podcaster MacG had made, describing the rapper's music as a "TikTok thing" and "washed up".
Nyovest recently released his single "Kusho Bani" and it has been a trending sound on the social media site. A challenge has also emerged on the app whereby people post themselves or their partners to the lyrics that say: "Have you seen my wife? Hosh Karamaima. Nkare ke le china, dripping in designer."
Phamotse took to X to defend the award-winning rapper after MacG and his co-host, Sol Phenduka, shared that they they are not feeling the song while MacG claimed that the "Baby Girl" hitmaker needs to leave the mic before the mic leaves him and added that "it's chaai" for Nyovest which translates to it's over.
She wrote: "When you're sitting on your high horse and forget where people come from and how hard it is to stay on top, you will utter such nonsense! @casspernyovest give us a date we will show up! #Fill! No one has done it better done YOU!"
The remarks caused a stir on social media, with many netizens agreeing with the podcasters.
However, others disagreed and said that the rapper, just like many other musicians, is using TikTok as a marketing tool to promote his music.
Meanwhile, in response to MacG, Nyovest this week announced on X that he is going to do another "Fill Up" concert.
He posted: "You know what??? Lemme go book a stadium and do FILL UP one more time so we can restore order. Nkare bafana ba ba tla ntlwaela cause ke itidimaletse!!! (These boys are disrespecting me because I am quite) Which stadium y'all want??? Let's rock!!!"
The rapper also made a follow-up tweet sharing that "Kusho Bani" single has 2,000,000 plays on YouTube Music and currently has 1,000,000 streams on Spotify.
"Kusho Bani' currently on 2M plays on YouTube Music, 1M streams on Spotify and 1 Million views on YouTube in 3 weeks. Shout out to everyone streaming and supporting the music. I really really really appreciate it man. I do this for y'all and y'all have shown nothing but LOVE!!!"
